My mother, last name Spurlock, from Coweta, Oklahoma, may have given birth here between 1938 and 1945. I would love to find my sibling, which we believe to have been a girl.

Regarding male child born 2 Feb 1938: Given name was Monte Bankhead. I have had DNA test run on "Monte's" son. The son is matching to Bankhead's who come out of Stigler, Oklahoma. The non-identifying information for the birth parents was received but they forgot to black out the first name of the father...which is also Monte. This is telling me that "Monte"'s father is also a Bankhead. My friend and his half sister both match the Bankhead matches on Ancestry. There is another match for my friend and his half sister who is a 1st cousin/possible half aunt match. Non of the Bankhead's match this person. The sister and my friend do not have the same mom. Since both of them match this 1st cousin/half aunt I am presuming that it is from "Monte's" birth mom's side of the family. I was given the mother's surname as Bankhead...but I think somehow the records are incorrect. I can not find a marriage record for the father Monte Bankhead to any other woman beside a woman he married a couple of years later. The non-identifying information for the mother states that she was Baptist, of Irish nationality, was 5 ft 51/2 inches tall, weight 107 lbs, dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. She had a high school education and taught kindergarten. She was 18 at the time of this birth. Her parents did not know of her "condition". Her father was 40 years old; he owned his own home, was employed as a foreman in a large garage. Her mother was 36. She had 2 brothers (ages 13 and 11 in 1938). If anyone has any information please let me know. Thank you,Kris [email protected]

Were the birth records from the Eastside maternity hospital transferred to the St. Luke's hospital's medical records department? Did the Cradle burn down, if so, when? Did St. Luke's burn down, if so when?

Clyde A. Oellerich (1941) I am searching for my maternal half sister (sister) born in 1941 and placed for adoption through The Kansas City Cradle. Our birth mother's name is Margaret Eleanore Oellerich. She is now deceased. According to my birth records, my sister's weight at birth was 7lb. and 3oz. and the duration of my mother's labor, when she gave birth to my sister, was 2 hours. Like my sister, I was also placed for adoption. I was born in Denver Colorado in 1944. My mother gave me my name of Clyde A. Oellerich at birth. It was from my birth records that learned that my mother had a previous child and the weight and duration of labor for this child. From my birth records, I also learned that my mother placed my sister for adoption through the Kansas City Cradle. My genetic maternal haplogroup is H2a2. I have found our maternal birth family. Our birth family aunts, uncles, and cousins are very warm and loving people. I still have contact with the Oellerich family. My maternal aunts told me the gender of the baby was a girl. The whole Oellerich family and myself would love to have a reunion with my sister. I have a lot of information to share with my sister. If anybody has any information regarding my sister please contact me at [email protected] or call me at 303-601-3388. Clyde A. Oellerich

Stella May Hull b. Oct. 23, 1905 Kansas City Deed of Adoption. to Whit and Nora (Noria) Lynch. Adoption approved by Mrs RJ Neely. However, after 1910 the Lynch's no longer have her. Can a Deed of Adoption be nullified? I believe her birth mother was Ella May and was divorced. Ella May remarried to Frederick Craddock and Stella May shows up in their household as adopted daughter. Would love o solve this family mystery.

Not sure where to begin. My dad just gave me his adoption paperwork in the hopes of maybe finding out some information on his adoption. The name he had in his adoption paperwork was John Franklin. I understand that this is just a name the home gave him, and not necessarily a name from his birth parents. He was adopted from the Kansas City Cradle in 1941, and was born 31 December 1940.

My father and his identical twin brother were born on November 17, 1946 at Fairmount Maternity Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Their birth names were Carl & Kay Champion. We are not sure if "Champion" was their birth mothers last name or the fathers due to the fact that she was single. She was 41 years of age when she gave birth to them, so she was born in 1905. At that time she had a 23 year old daughter and an 8 year old daughter. My father and his brother were adopted 6 weeks later by George Dale & Lillie Colclasure who lived in Argentine, KS and later moved to Fairway, KS. Their adopted names are Gary D. Colclasure and Gerry Ray Colclasure. Please send any information that you think would help. Thank you!

My mother was adopted from what she remembered being called The Cradles Orphanage. I am hoping this is the same one. She grew up with a wonderful family and her mother lived to be 100 years old. We have just recently talked about maybe trying to see what we could find out. She is very musical and interested in seeing if there is anyone else that is musical in her family.

I have been searching off and on for many years and have hit deadends. I have his birth parents names and I know they were married briefly. My husband was born in january 1945 and was a Cradle baby. Baby Conway is the name that is on his paperwork. I would like to find his birth mother if possible.
The first thing anyone looking needs to do is request the NON ID information from Jackson County. You might be surprised at how much information you can get, and if you have the birth name, a lot of digging through the census records might give you a match. Remember too, don't just look in the KC area. Women came from all over the country. My husbands mother was from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. That is hour our search angles found her. We just found out his birth father's name, now the search for him begins. Good luck.
